My Holiday Diary, Easter 2002

30 March 2002

Today we got up very early to go to the airport to catch a flight. The plane wasquite small, it was the smallest plane at the airport. On the plane we hadbreakfast. That was the longest ride then, travelling to the Barnhof. The wegot a train. On the train we went through a big tunnel. On the train we went toanother Barnhof and at the Barnhof we changed trains.

The second train started to go up the mountains very slowly. On the train we wentto Frutigen. At Fruitigen we changed to another bus. It went up the mountain toAdelboden. The we went on a taxi to the hotel. We went to the ski hire shop to get some skis and some helmets and some sticks. Then we walked back to the hotel.

31 March 2002

We got our ski teacher Tony. We stood on the other side the of the road from our ski room to wait for the bus. On the bus the door was on the wrong side so we got in the side the driver was sitting but it was the wrong side. At the mountain at the bottom Tony said it was too busy. Tony took us up the top.

To get to the top Tony took us on a Gondelbahn. At the top we did some skiing down a little path that a fence at the bottom so we wouldn't fall down the mountain too far. I thought it was good idea to put the fence there because if you didn't snow plough quick enough you would end up rolling down the hill. We had a break and a drink cause we were too hot, then Tony took Helen down the mountain while Daddy was the ski teacher for me and Katie. Then after Daddy had done ski Teacher for me and Katie we had lunch and I had more lunch than anyone else did.

Daddy went to ski the black run while Helen, Katie and me did building a snowman, with a big bottie and a big fat tummy and a long nose it looked just like my dad.

Then we went down the mountain on the Gondelbahn and daddy skied down and he skied faster than the Gondelbahn could go.

After the Gondelbahn we came off the snow and went on a bus. Then we went in another Gondelbahn and then we went on another Gondelbahn. Then we walked back to the hotel. Then we took our sweaty clothes off and had a bath. And after the bath we went out to look for a present for Mummy and Laura but we thought there would be more shops open tomorrow. So then we didn’t have any tea in the hotel like last night cause no one liked to food so we had a pizza. Then we went for an explore and on the way back daddy went the wrong way then daddy went the right way. Then we went back to the hotel and got PJs on and had supper and Katie went to bed and I stayed up to do my diary.

1 April 2002

We went on the mountain as yesterday. My teacher called Tony is a good skiing teacher. I can do snowplough on the bumps and I couldn't do that yesterday. Katie could do that today but she couldn't do that yesterday. We did snowplough turns and Tony put cones where to turn and Katie could to that as well, but we could not to it yesterday.

Tony thought that going up those type of lifts was good exercise but my Dad thought it was just hard work. Then we had a break, and after the break Tony took Helen to do what she was doing yesterday while daddy was the ski teacher for me and Katie. On the lifter we made a train with me and then Daddy and Katie at the front.

After lunch me, Helen and Katie built a snow lady while dad did some skiing, then my Dad came to help me Helen and Katie, when we had finished getting down the mountain we went to the ski room to take our skis off, and take the skis into the ski room, and daddy went back to the hotel he get his and Helens shoes. Then we did some shopping for mummy and my friend at school Laura. This is what we had for tea, I had “Snitzel and pomme frites”, Katie had “Hamburger and chips”, Helen and my dad had Fondu. Then we went back to the hotel, Katie went upstairs to get PJs on while Daddy and I went to the bar to get a drink. Then I did my diary.

2 April 2002

I got up and scoffed up my breakfast dawn when me and Katie had finished our cereals then we go out of the eating room and down a corridor then there is another corridor and in the corridor there is a table and all of what is on the table you can choose from for more breakfast if you are still hungry. Then we went up to the ski again and today first Daddy was the ski teacher and Tony went to teach Helen her skiing, after drink then Tony went first then me then Katie then Helen then daddy and instead of going on the Gondelbahn we skied the blue run down the mountain.

Before I did it I thought I was going to be scared but as soon as I started I thought it was brilliant fun.

Then we went up the Gondelbahn to do it all again, the same thing then the lesson finished, and we went to have lunch.

Daddy had a ski while me Helen and Katie finished our lunch then we went to the toilet. While me and Katie played a bit Helen had a rest and watched us. Then we got on the bus and then the Gondelbahn and another Gondelbahn and walked to the hotel. And on the way to the hotel we brought a key ring bell me and Katie, and then we had a pizza for tea and went to the hotel. Then me and daddy went to the bar for milk while Katie went up to the room to go to bed. I stayed up to do my diary.

3 April 2002

Today went skiing again, the first time we went up a different mountain and on a different blue run and we skied down.

One of the times Helen nearly skied off the cliff, wet her pants. And another time when we skied down then I was behind Katie along way and just in front of Helen and she crashed me and we ended up fallen down in she snow, and there was another lady behind us, and she helped me up and Helen got up on her own.

And with counting all the runs down the mountain we went down four times. The we stopped when it was the end of the lesson and we went to have lunch, we said goodbye and dankashen to Tony. We took our skis back to the ski shop and packed our suitcases to go home in the morning.

4 April 2002

We got up very early because we had to travel. So my dad woke me up and Helen woke Katie up and we got out of bed and put our clothes on and got out the door of the hotel room and went to the lift, then my dad went up in the lift again because there was another suitcase up there still. We went in a Taxi and then a bus. On the bus me and Katie said goodbye to the mountains that day it was really sad because we had to go home.

Then we went on an enormous train and, not two like when were coming here, just one, and the train took us to the airport then we got on our airplane and at this time we were nearly at the end of our travelling. In the aeroplane when were in the sky because there we no clouds we say the boats in the sea, then we saw the Millennium Dome and the London Eye. Daddy showed me where Gatley hill was, and we saw daddy's favourite shop B&Q with a "B" on the roof, and we saw Nanny house and in the aeroplane we saw some houses and we didn't know which one was Mummy house, but one of them would have been your house. Then we landed at the airport and Helen thought it was a different Manchester because it was sunny, but it wasn’t a different Manchester it was the normal Manchester. And that was the end of our holiday and was brilliant fun. Katie got a watch and I got a jumper and I am wearing it on me right now.
